Sexual exploration is healthy and natural, so it is no wonder that more and more men and women are exploring their sexuality through anal sex and adult sex toys in the privacy of the bedrooms. Anal sex is not always at the top of everybody’s “must do” list, but many are choosing to explore this area.
This area, like our brains, is often ignored as a means of sexual pleasure. The anus responds to pressure, touch and movement just like the vagina or penis. Although many consider anal sex taboo, others are finding enormous pleasure and are using anal sex to “spice things up a bit,” especially when sex toys are used to increase stimulation.
Many people stray from anal sex out of fear. The only way to overcome this fear is to explore the unknown. That being said, it is important to remember that this decision should be one made out of personal choice and not through pressure.
The first step in combating this fear is to begin to learn about the anus. The anus contains a high concentration of nerve endings and responds to pressure and feelings of fullness. Both sexual organs of the man and woman can be stimulated from the anus. Men can have their prostate gland stimulated by placing pressure a couple of inches inside the anus. Woman can also have the internal tip of the clitoris stimulated as well. There are many adult sex toys that are being sold specifically for anal sex and they can be used in the exploration process.
The key to anal sex is relaxation and time. There should be no pain but you will want to pay attention to what feels good and what does not. Breathe and relax if all feels well, but do not force it if it does not feel good or right.
An open mind is also essential. There are many varieties of anal play from touching and penetrating with the fingers to oral contact or playing with sex toys. Do only what you are comfortable with, but don’t forget about the exploration factor as well.
Following the basic rules of anal sex is important. Use a lot of lubrication to prevent the tearing of tissue. The anus and rectum does not produce its own natural lubrication, so you must be prepared with a good quality and thick lubricant. Any sex toys should be free of sharp edges or seams. Fingernails should also be cut short or rounded.
Anything toys that have been used in the anus should not be placed in the vagina. The anus and the vagina have two different types of bacteria and can cause problems for women if they are mixed. Use a fresh condom on the penis or toys. Sex toys should also be washed thoroughly after use and before they are placed in the vagina.
Anal sex can be a fun and pleasurable experience if you take the time move slowly and do some exploration first. It is also to remember that what may feel good to you may not necessarily feel good to your partner so open communication is very important during your anal sex play.
